Call Objective
The aim of the call is to support research and development projects that, within five years, will lead to the commercialisation of medicinal products and contribute to strengthening Poland’s pharmaceutical security.

companies conducting research and development activities;
academic–industry consortia;
collaborative projects involving universities, research institutes and healthcare providers;
teams developing innovative pharmaceutical solutions.

Projects may include clinical trials of medicinal products or preclinical studies combined with a clinical trial. The project must focus on the development of a generic or biosimilar medicinal product, including novel pharmaceutical formulations or modifications of existing medicines.
The total call budget is PLN 90 million. The minimum project value is PLN 3 million, while the maximum grant amount is PLN 15 million.
Applications were accepted from 17 February 2026 until 21 April 2026 at 12:00. Applications had to be submitted electronically through the MRA application system.
Only a company may act as a single applicant or consortium leader. Consortium members may include universities, research institutes, healthcare providers and other entities conducting research and development activities.
One entity may participate in a maximum of four applications, regardless of whether it acts as an applicant, consortium leader or consortium member.
The maximum project duration is eight years (96 months). No minimum project duration has been specified.
No. The Principal Investigator (PI) does not need to be designated when the application is submitted and may be appointed at a later stage of project implementation.
Yes. The Research and Development Project Manager must be identified at the application stage and constitutes an important component of project evaluation.
The evaluation process consists of two stages: formal assessment conducted by the MRA and scientific assessment performed by independent experts. The maximum score available is 50 points.
Evaluation criteria include scientific value, innovation, patient impact, implementation potential, economic benefits, and the quality of the project team and infrastructure.
Yes. Additional points may be awarded, among others, for projects involving active pharmaceutical ingredients included on the national list of critical medicines.
The call does not fund, among others, research experiments as defined by law, medical device studies or projects based on the hospital exemption pathway.
No. A consortium is optional but permitted. It may consist of up to four entities and must be formally established before submission of the application.
Publication of the ranking list was planned for August 2026, following completion of both the formal and scientific evaluation stages.
